Thanks for stopping by!

I love stories! True stories about real people. Stories about ordinary people just like you and me, that do extra-ordinary things. Sometimes they are "big" things.....but most often they are the "little" things in life that turn into the extra-ordinary stories.

Growing up, I loved to listen to Paul Harvey, on the radio program....The Rest of the Story. His stories of famous and not-so-famous people would conclude with a surprise ending...which was "the rest of the story."

As a realtor, it's been my privilege to meet hundreds of interesting people. Folks that believe....one person can make a difference! You may pass them on the street and may not know them....but they have a story! You see, we all have a story! So, we're going to BLOG ...some wonderful stories. True stories about folks that make this world a better place!

The first story is one close to my heart.....one that I know well.....and has impacted my world the most.......My DAD!

I GREW UP A RICH GIRL.....MY DAD WAS WEALTHY MAN!

Let me tell you about my Dad....we never lived in a house more than 1500 sq. ft....had one garage, one bathroom for 4 women, and a black and white TV .

We sewed all our own clothes, fixed everything that broke. My Dad always left things better than he found them (he even made his bed at hotels). Always wrote thank you notes...I would always find cash left in my kitchen after he left.

He always voted, never made more than $16,000 a year in salary, always lived within his means, paid all his bills, washed dishes, used a vacuum, even used a sewing machine and sewed on my buttons, returned borrowed items with a "little extra", took dishes to ill and people going through hard times, gave cash to those who needed it more than he, never heard an unkind word out of his mouth, patient and kind to people (never know what they might be going through).

Shoveled the neighbor lady's walk, helped the widow next door, let his mother-in-law sit in the front seat, honored his parents, never complained about his life, job, or financial situation. Always found a better way to do things, measured twice: cut once.... do things right the first tim. There was no such thing as "that's-good-enough" in our house: do your best the first time, remained flexible in life, loved and respected my mother everyday of her life, never fought with anyone, went to church twice on Sundays and once on Wednesdays. Volunteered service to his community in city government and church, was a forgiving person...never held a grudge, remained faithful and hopeful in adversity, was a grateful person.

And oh,....by the way...did I tell you he never made more than $16,000 a year and never got a raise on his pension check in the 30 years he has been retired....but you understand...my DAD was a "wealthy man" because he had the love and respect of children through adults....faith in God and love for his wife and family! I had the privilege of growing up a rich girl with Russell Werch as my Dad!

Thank you, Dad.....YOU ARE A WEALTHY MAN!
